According to an official statement from the Ga Mantse’s Office, the court ruling, which has circulated widely online, was misinterpreted. The Office clarified that the Court of Appeal did not affirm the legitimacy of Nii Adama Latse II as Ga Mantse, as many are claiming.
Instead, the ruling addressed a procedural matter related to the chieftaincy register.
“The Court only ruled on an administrative error regarding the entry in the National Register of Chiefs,” the statement emphasized. “It did not make any pronouncement confirming Nii Adama Latse II as the Ga Mantse.”
The Office also stressed that King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II remains the legitimate occupant of the Ga Stool and continues to carry out his duties as the recognized Ga Mantse.
The statement further urged the public and media outlets to seek accurate legal interpretations before spreading misinformation.
“We encourage all Ga people and residents of Accra to remain calm and ignore false claims being spread by individuals with ulterior motives,” the Office added.
The situation continues to draw public attention, with traditional leaders, legal experts, and residents calling for clarity and unity within the Ga State.
