the Ghana Education Service (GES) has dismissed the Assistant Headteacher of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology Senior High School (KNUST SHS) following allegations of professional misconduct.
According to sources, the senior administrator was found in a compromising position with a female student on campus. The incident, which sparked outrage among staff and students, led to swift disciplinary action from the GES.
In a statement, the Service emphasized that the action taken reflects its commitment to upholding discipline and safeguarding the welfare of students across all schools. It further assured parents, guardians, and the public of its zero tolerance for any conduct that compromises the integrity of the teaching profession or the safety of learners.
The affected staff member has since been removed from post, while the student involved is receiving support from school authorities and counselors.
The GES also reiterated its call to all educators to adhere strictly to professional ethics and maintain the highest standards of conduct in their interactions with students.
