Accra Technical University (ATU) calculates students’ Grade Point Average (GPA) using a straightforward method that ensures academic performance is accurately reflected.
How Accra Technical University calculates GPA
To determine a student’s GPA, ATU follows a two-step process:
- The GPA is calculated by adding all the grade points students have earned throughout their courses. This sum is then divided by the total number of credit hours the student has completed.
- Each letter grade corresponds to a specific grade point. The chart below illustrates how different letter grades are assigned corresponding numerical values, which are then used in the GPA calculation.
This GPA system allows students to track their academic progress and overall performance in their respective programmes at ATU.
