According to the university, applicants must carefully select their preferred mode of study at the point of purchasing their e-voucher, as each stream requires a specific application form.
Two Study Streams Available
KNUST is offering admissions under the following categories:
Regular Stream
This option is designed for full-time students who will attend lectures on the university’s main campus in Kumasi. It is open to applicants with WASSCE, SSSCE, A-Level qualifications, as well as Mature and Top-Up candidates who prefer on-campus academic engagement.
Distance Learning Mode (IDL)
The Institute of Distance Learning provides a flexible option for individuals who may be working or unable to attend full-time classes. This mode combines online learning with weekend face-to-face sessions, typically held on Saturdays and Sundays at designated KNUST centres. It is particularly suitable for HND and Diploma holders, as well as those pursuing Top-Up or Diploma programmes.
Application Fees
The university has outlined the following fees for application forms:
- Ghanaian Top-Up applicants: GH¢250
- Diploma applicants: GH¢170
- International applicants: US$100 to US$150
How to Purchase the E-Voucher
Applicants can purchase their e-voucher by dialing 41555# on their mobile phones. After dialing, they should select option 3 (Application Forms), then choose either the Regular Stream or Distance Learning Mode, and proceed with payment.
