UCC Appoints Prof. Denis Worlanyo Aheto as Acting Vice-Chancellor

The University of Cape Coast (UCC) has appointed Prof. Denis Worlanyo Aheto, the current Pro Vice-Chancellor, as Acting Vice-Chancellor.

The decision was taken at an emergency meeting of the University Governing Council held on Tuesday, September 24, 2025, in response to a directive from the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC).

University officials have assured staff, students, and stakeholders that the change in leadership will not disrupt the institution’s academic calendar or administrative processes.

Prof. Aheto is expected to provide stable leadership as UCC navigates this transition period, with Council pledging its full support to ensure continuity in the university’s operations.
