Liverpool have once again reaffirmed their intention to make a record-breaking bid for Newcastle United star striker Alexander Isak, sources confirm.

The Merseyside giants are preparing a massive £120 million package to lure the Swedish international to Anfield. This proposal, which would mark the highest transfer fee in Liverpool’s history, was first reported earlier in the week and has now been reconfirmed.

However, the formal bid remains on hold as Newcastle continue to insist that Isak is not for sale. The Magpies have maintained a firm stance on the 24-year-old forward, who played a pivotal role in their recent campaigns and has quickly become one of the Premier League’s most exciting attacking talents.

Liverpool’s interest highlights their aggressive approach in the transfer market this summer, with the club clearly identifying Isak as a long-term centrepiece for their evolving frontline.

Despite the record fee being prepared, Liverpool will not proceed with submitting the offer unless there’s a shift in Newcastle’s position. Until then, the ball remains firmly in the Magpies’ court.
