The University of Ghana (UG) has issued an important notice to applicants following the release of the 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) results.

In a notice dated September 5, 2026, the University‘s Academic Affairs Directorate urged applicants to log back into the admissions portal and carefully review the information submitted as part of their undergraduate application.
The notice comes as prospective students begin making final decisions about their university admissions following the release of their WASSCE results.
Applicants Asked to Verify Their Details
The University has advised applicants to pay particular attention to the personal and examination information attached to their applications.
Applicants are expected to verify details including their full name, date of birth, WASSCE index number, examination month, examination year and examination records.
The University is encouraging applicants to ensure that the information provided on the admissions portal corresponds with their official examination records.
Any incorrect information could potentially create complications during the admissions process.
Applicants Should Review Programme Choices
The University has also advised applicants to consider the published entry requirements and cut-off aggregates for their preferred programmes.
UG offers different programmes with different admission requirements and cut-off aggregates. Applicants are therefore encouraged to confirm that their WASSCE results meet the requirements of the programmes they selected.
For example, the published cut-off information lists BSc Computer Science at an aggregate of 7, BSc Information Technology at 10 and BSc Computer Engineering at 7 for first-choice applicants.
Applicants are advised to consult the University’s official admission information rather than relying on figures circulating on social media.
September 8 Deadline
The latest notice states that the application portal will close at exactly 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, September 8, 2026.
Applicants who have not completed or reviewed their applications are therefore being urged to do so before the stated deadline.
The University has also reminded applicants to use official University platforms for applications, payments and admission-related information.
Applicants Urged to Act Early
With the deadline approaching, applicants are encouraged not to wait until the final hours before checking their applications.
Candidates should review their personal information, WASSCE details, programme choices and entry requirements before submitting their applications.
The September 8 deadline should be treated as the immediate deadline stated in the latest notice from the Academic Affairs Directorate.
