In a statement released to the student body, the EC indicated that the decision was taken due to unforeseen circumstances, although specific details surrounding the postponement were not immediately disclosed. The Commission assured students that a new date for the elections will be communicated in due course.
The development has created uncertainty among students, particularly aspirants and their supporters who had been actively campaigning ahead of the polls. Many students expressed mixed reactions, with some calling for transparency from the EC, while others urged calm and patience as the situation is addressed.

Some student leaders have also emphasized the need for the Electoral Commission to ensure fairness, credibility, and proper organization before conducting the elections. According to them, a well-organized electoral process is key to maintaining peace and trust within the university community.
The SRC elections are a crucial part of student governance, allowing students to elect leaders who will represent their interests and welfare on campus. The postponement, therefore, has raised concerns about how it may affect the academic calendar and student activities.
Students are advised to stay updated through official communication channels of UPSA and the SRC for further announcements regarding the new election date and any additional directives.
